This article was prepared by the Altegio team. The comparison is based on the official public documentation of both systems: a full 83-item matrix with a score of 67:7:9, each row with a verification date and a source.
If you are choosing between Altegio and Reservio, feature lists are not what you really care about. What you care about is this: will your calendar stay full, will clients come back, will your client base remain yours – and how much time will you lose to routine the system should handle for you. And one more thing people usually discover only after subscribing: flexibility. Your own rules for different services and professionals, a loyalty program that actually works, and analytics that show what is really happening in your business.
So we did something that rarely happens in comparison articles: we sat down and read the entire public Reservio documentation – 14 collections, roughly 264 help-center articles. Every claim below is backed either by their own article or by ours. No “we believe” statements.
The short version, if you are in a hurry: Reservio is a solid calendar with online booking and a marketplace in Czechia and Slovakia – but beyond scheduling, its functionality is rather limited: the rules are rigid and global (“one setting for everyone”), marketing is only possible through third-party tools, and your client base lives by the platform’s rules. Altegio is an operating system for a service business: appointments, client retention, loyalty, checkout, inventory, payroll and a chain of locations in one place – with a client base that you own and control.
And here is why it is worth reading to the end. You will not find a comparison like this anywhere else: we compared 83 items using the official documentation of both products, with verbatim quotes and a link behind every claim. It is the audit that would take you a week to do yourself. Below is its most valuable part, table by table: what you get, what you give up, and what it costs you in real money.

The score across the full 83-item matrix we compared: 67 – Altegio stronger, 7 – Reservio stronger, 9 – parity. From here on, only the things that actually affect your revenue.
1. Calendar: a full schedule instead of “just a timetable”
Here is a scenario every service business knows. A client calls: “I want Veronika on Thursday.” Veronika is fully booked. What happens next?
In Reservio – nothing. There is no waiting list; that is their own wording in the FAQ, and the topic is “planned for the future”. There is nowhere to put the client, and a sticky note on the monitor does not count.
In Altegio you save the request to the waiting list – service, preferred time, preferred professional. A slot opens up (someone cancels) – and the request becomes an appointment in one click. A cancelled slot is not lost revenue; it is the next client in the queue.
| Feature | Reservio | Altegio |
|---|---|---|
| Waiting list | No | Yes, request-to-appointment in one click |
| Individual and group bookings in one calendar | No – the calendar type is chosen at registration; switching goes through support and erases all bookings | One calendar, both scenarios |
| Two professionals on one appointment (manicure + pedicure at once) | No; the suggested workaround is a pseudo-employee called “Adam + Eva” | 4HANDS+ package services |
| A room, chair or solarium as a resource | No; workaround – a “fake employee” | Resources linked to services, conflicts excluded |
| Appointments longer than 24 hours | No – a hard 24-hour ceiling | No such limit documented |
| Booking rules (lead time, intervals) | One set for the whole account | Per service and per professional |
Look closely at the resources row. Reservio’s official recommendation for a business with a shared room is to create the room as an employee and hide the whole “Staff” block from the booking page. In other words, to avoid showing clients an “employee” called Room 2, you switch off professional selection for everyone. That is not a detail – that is architecture.
Why this matters for Czech businesses: the most frequent request from Czech clients in our support chats is fine-grained online booking control – “in this service category clients should choose the professional, in that one they should not.” Requests like these can only be solved with per-service settings. Global one-size-fits-all rules simply cannot cover this class of tasks.
“We tried Reservio, we knew MyFox, and then Altegio. We chose the one with features the other systems did not have: statistics and analytics, and the ability to set things up individually for every team member. We have so many bookings every day that without online booking we could hardly manage – a lot of it just takes care of itself.”
– Spa & Massage centrum, Brno (~10 professionals, Altegio client since 2023; translated from the Czech interview)
2. Client retention: where the system starts earning
Remember one quote from Reservio’s documentation – it explains the whole difference in philosophy:
“Export your client list and, with the help of your favorite marketing tool, always outside Reservio, start sending newsletters.”
That is the verbatim advice from their marketing article. The whole of Reservio’s marketing is a CSV export and “you are on your own”.
| Feature | Reservio | Altegio |
|---|---|---|
| Bulk campaigns by segment | No | SMS and messengers from client-base filters |
| Birthday greetings | No (the year of birth is not even stored in the client profile) | Automatic, N days before or on the day |
| “We miss you” after a cancellation or no-show | No – their article states directly that win-back is not supported | Automatic re-booking invitation |
| Review request after a visit | Yes (Feedback request) | Yes, with a configurable delay |
| Reminder cascade (24 h + 2 h) | No – one reminder, one time for both SMS and email | Channel scenarios with “send if the previous channel failed” logic |
| Channels | SMS, email | SMS, email, push, WhatsApp (two native options), Telegram |
| Loyalty Program | No (only 3 types of passes) | Fixed and tiered cashback, automatic tiers, loyalty cards |
| Gift Cards | Discontinued since 2 December 2025 | Sold online 24/7, pay for services and products |
| Referral program for clients | No | Yes, the reward is applied at checkout |
Two ways to run WhatsApp – no third-party platforms
Reservio has no WhatsApp channel at all: “Unfortunately, it is currently not possible” – their FAQ. In Altegio, WhatsApp is built in, in two ways for two different needs:
- Altegio Notification Sender – the fastest start. Automated reminders and personalised messages reach clients on WhatsApp from an official Altegio number: you do not need your own number, a Facebook portfolio or a third-party aggregator. Enable it from the integration catalog in a couple of clicks and notifications start flowing.
- WhatsApp Coexistence – for businesses that want their own number. The same number works simultaneously in the WhatsApp Cloud API (automated messages from Altegio) and in the WhatsApp Business app (your receptionist chatting live) – with a shared chat history. Automation and personal conversations do not get in each other’s way.
The difference is simple: Altegio Notification Sender – switch it on in minutes and send reminders without any infrastructure of your own; WhatsApp Coexistence – automation plus personal dialogues from the number your clients already trust. On the Czech market, where SMS is still the main channel and WhatsApp is catching up, this is your exit route from growing SMS prices – Reservio has no such exit at all.
Gift cards deserve a separate note, because this is pre-holiday money. Reservio’s gift voucher feature was officially discontinued on 2 December 2025 (and before that it worked only for Czech businesses via the ČSOB gateway inside their marketplace). In Altegio, gift cards are a complete product: types, denominations, unique codes, sold online around the clock. Before Christmas, this one table row pays for the subscription.
3. Client base: a 7-field card versus a CRM
In Reservio, the client card is 7 fixed fields: name, email, phone, address, gender, birthday (without the year!) and one note. That is all.
- Files and before/after photos? – “Reservio is not designed for uploading and saving documents at the moment.”
- Categories and tags? – No.
- Segments? – No.
- How much has this client spent this year? – Only a no-show counter and a list of bookings.
- Client deposits, paying on credit? – Not documented.
And the cherry on top: if a client has registered their own Reservio account, the business cannot edit their contact details at all. That is their FAQ, not ours.
In Altegio, the client card is a working tool: configurable custom fields (both in the client profile and in the appointment), categories with colour labels visible right in the calendar, a Files tab with granular access rights, financial history (total spent, discounts, visits, average bill), client accounts with deposits. For medical business types (clinics, medical centres, dental practices and others) – a structured medical record with printing.
On switching systems. Import into Reservio means a CSV with three columns (name, email, phone) and a hard limit of 150 clients per file; visit history and passes are not transferred at all. Altegio imports from Excel – clients together with their visit history and memberships. The practical conclusion: moving to us from Reservio is a standard procedure, and the data you accumulated over the years does not burn up.
4. Money: prepayment, checkout, P&L
| Feature | Reservio | Altegio |
|---|---|---|
| Prepayment | Global for the whole account only, full amount only | Per service and/or professional, % or fixed, full or partial |
| No-show protection | One reminder | A reminder cascade + targeted prepayment on “risky” services |
| Online payment providers | Adyen (Europe only) | Stripe, Adyen, VivaWallet and others by market |
| Platform fee on online payments | 3.00% → 1.19% + a fixed fee, depends on the plan | Altegio adds no fee – provider terms apply |
| Cash registers and register operations | No articles at all | Multiple registers, a daily report, encashment |
| P&L | One “Statistics” page (Starter+) | P&L with month-to-month comparison, cash flow |
| Refunds | Full amount only; the card fee is paid by the business | Refunds via register operations |
| Payouts | Only after the balance exceeds €50; in Czechia – once a week | Depends on the provider |
The key row is the first one. No-shows do not hit every service equally: a three-hour colouring on Saturday and a 20-minute men’s haircut carry different risks. In Reservio, prepayment is all-or-nothing (“Payment settings in Reservio are global”). In Altegio you switch prepayment on exactly where it hurts: for a specific service, for a specific professional, full or partial.
5. Inventory and payroll: what Reservio does not have at all
Two areas where there is nothing to compare – in Reservio’s documentation these topics do not exist as such.
Payroll. Searching “payroll” in their help center returns “We couldn’t find any articles for: payroll”. In Altegio: criteria-based calculation schemes, a percentage of services and of products sold, separate rules for assistants and receptionists, and a Payroll section in the team member’s app. Every professional sees their own earnings – one less source of conflict, and one less evening the owner spends in Excel.
Inventory. In Reservio – one flat product list with a text SKU field. In Altegio – bills of materials with automatic consumable write-off when a visit is closed (dye, developer, disposables), multiple warehouses, goods receipt documents with the supplier, transfers between locations, stock audits with a barcode scanner, cost price calculation. For a business with expensive consumables (colouring, cosmetology, nail services), bills of materials mean knowing the real margin of every procedure instead of a rough guess at the end of the month.
How much this decides is best said by the owner of a Prague chain (2 locations, ~40 team members) who was comparing alternatives on the Czech market:
“The other systems could not give us staff payroll calculation. Or inventory. We cannot count that by hand – and those are the two things that kept us with Altegio.”
– My Beauty Story chain, Prague (from a client interview)
6. Team and chain: from one professional to a franchise
In Reservio, a team member can log into the system only on the Pro plan – on all other plans your professional physically cannot open their own calendar under their own login. Access rights are three checkboxes. A chain of locations means “a separate account per location with its own email”, connected manually through support.
In Altegio: a separate team member app (works offline), roles and permission groups by section, and for chains – a shared client base and a shared service catalog, a loyalty program configured once for all locations, chain-level inventory and cross-location analytics with Excel export. To the question “we are a large chain or franchise, what can you offer?”, Reservio’s help center answers with a single phrase: “contact support”.
7. Platform and Open API: a system you can extend
Reservio’s integration story is short: CSV export, analytics tracking codes (Standard/Pro only) and an API available only on the Pro plan – with the key issued manually, through a support request. No webhooks in their documentation, no integration catalog inside the product either.
Altegio answers with a platform. An Open API with a key available to any registered user, webhooks for system events, and an integration catalog right in the interface: telephony, messengers, payment gateways, marketing services. Plus deep customisation without code: custom fields for clients and appointments, your own payroll schemes, rules at the service and professional level.
The practical meaning in 2026 is simple: connect any tool – from a ready-made integration to an AI agent or a small utility vibe-coded in an evening. Appointments, clients and finance are available through the API, so your stack grows with your business instead of hitting the “export a CSV” wall.
Where Reservio is objectively stronger – and what to do about it
We promised honesty, so no squinting. Four points where Reservio is ahead – with context for each.
1. The reservio.cz / reservio.sk marketplace. A storefront that can bring in a new client is an honest plus, especially for a beginning business: while your processes are not yet built and there is no marketing budget, any external stream of bookings is worth its weight in gold.
Then the arithmetic of a mature business begins. If you invest €10,000 or more in marketing, you critically need to know what happens to an acquired client next: did they come back, what lifetime value did they bring, did the investment pay off over the whole customer lifecycle. With a base living on a marketplace, these questions are almost impossible to answer – and keeping the client is just as hard: next to your card there are hundreds of other offers, the base dilutes over time, and building loyalty to your brand while the platform shows your client your competitors every day is a swim against the current. Add the technical restrictions from their own documentation: a marketplace listing is incompatible with a custom booking-page domain, selling passes requires the client to register with Reservio, and marketplace reviews cannot be replied to.
Altegio’s strategy is the opposite by design: booking links and direct integrations with Google Maps, Instagram, Facebook, messengers and your website. These are channels where the client books with you – and stays yours: the base, the visit history and the loyalty belong to the business, not to a catalog.
2. Two-way Google Calendar sync. In Reservio, events from a personal Google calendar block slots in the system; in Altegio the sync is one-way (Altegio → Google). If your whole business lives in a personal Google calendar, this is a real plus for them. Context: work schedules, holidays and breaks in Altegio are managed inside the system, and the bigger the team, the less the owner’s personal calendar is the source of truth.
How seriously do we take this? Here are the words of the owner of a Prague aesthetic-medicine clinic who left Altegio for another system partly because of this very point:
“Actually, all my colleagues were upset that we were switching, because working with Altegio was much easier for them. Visually I liked Altegio much more, too. If I had to recommend one of the booking systems we tried, I would definitely recommend Altegio – nine out of ten.”
– an aesthetic-medicine clinic, Prague (translated from a Czech interview with a former client)
We publish a churned client’s words deliberately: weak points should be known before you choose a system, not after.
3. Their own physical payment terminal. Reservio ships a hardware card reader (Wi-Fi, no SIM). Altegio offers software integrations with payment providers. If you specifically want their terminal, that is Reservio’s plus.
4. A free plan forever. 40 bookings per 30 days, 100 clients in the base, history stored for 3 months (then auto-deleted). It is an honest entry point for a solo professional with 1–2 bookings a day. Do the maths on your own workload: 40 bookings a month is a business working a day and a half per week. At normal capacity you will end up on Standard/Pro – and then you should compare their full price (plus the 1.19–3.00% fee on every online payment) with Altegio’s plan, where the price is based on team size and appointments are unlimited. SMS and WhatsApp messages are paid separately in both systems – honest parity there. Altegio’s trial is 7 days, and data transfer is free.
Pricing: what you actually pay for
| Parameter | Reservio | Altegio |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | By booking volume (40 → 200 → 500 → ∞) | By number of team members |
| Booking limit | Yes on Free/Starter/Standard | None |
| Team member login | Pro only | On any plan |
| Custom notification texts | Standard/Pro only, no per-service template | Configurable |
| API | Pro only, key issued manually via support | Available to registered users |
| Removing platform branding | Pro only | Online booking links and pages are customised and branded in your style |
| SMS | Packages on top of the subscription (Czechia: from 1.20 Kč per SMS in the largest package) | Via an SMS provider at its rates |
| Platform fee on online payments | 3.00% / 1.89% / 1.39% / 1.19% + a fixed fee | 0% from Altegio (provider terms) |
The table compares the complete public plan line-ups: Reservio Free/Starter/Standard/Pro versus Altegio’s single plan priced by team size; every limitation in a cell refers to the plan named in it. Reservio’s plan structure per their “Overview of Reservio subscription plans” article (updated 4 Feb 2026) and reservio.com/cs/cenik; fee percentages from their pricing page as of 31 July 2026. Reservio’s paid plans start from 199 Kč/month on annual billing ex VAT (their own FAQ on the pricing page, 19 Aug 2026); exact Standard/Pro prices in CZK to be added at layout.
The meaning of this table is simple: with Reservio, you grow – the plan grows, because there are more bookings. With Altegio, the plan grows only when the team grows. For a busy business, that is a fundamentally different economy.
Moving from Reservio to Altegio
Migration to Altegio is free – and you will not go through it alone. Altegio’s onboarding specialists take the transfer on themselves: you export your base from Reservio, we import clients, services, memberships and visit history, and then together we set up online booking, notifications and the loyalty program around your processes. Booking does not stop – your clients will not notice the move. The first 7 days are a free trial, no card required.
Frequently asked questions
Is Reservio free?
Reservio has a Free plan: 40 bookings per 30 days, 100 clients, 3 months of history. SMS reminders and team member logins are not included. For a working business the real cost is the Standard/Pro plan + SMS packages + the fee on online payments.
What is the fundamental difference between Altegio and Reservio?
Reservio solves the task of “accepting a booking online”. Altegio covers the whole operating loop of a service business: appointments, client retention (campaigns, loyalty, gift cards), checkout and P&L, inventory with bills of materials, payroll, a chain of locations. Across our 83-item matrix: 67 in Altegio’s favour, 7 for Reservio, 9 parity.
Can I transfer my data from Reservio to Altegio?
Yes. Clients, services, memberships and visit history are imported from Excel/CSV, and the transfer is free. In the opposite direction, by the way, only the name, email and phone are transferred – in batches of 150 rows.
Does Altegio have a marketplace like reservio.cz?
No – by design. Altegio connects booking where clients are already looking for you: Google Maps, Instagram, Facebook, messengers, your website and a branded app. The client base, the visit history and the loyalty remain fully yours.
Does Altegio work for chains and franchises?
Yes: a shared client base, a shared service catalog, a chain-wide loyalty program, inventory and cross-location analytics – without separate accounts for every location.
How much does Altegio cost?
From €8 per team member per month; appointments are unlimited. The trial is 7 days. The current prices are on the pricing page.
P.S. If you have read this far, you already know the answer. The question is not “which system is better” – the question is whether you need a calendar or a business system. Try Altegio free for 7 days – and compare your own schedule a week later, not the tables.
