Sustainability and Responsibility

Section Company

Altegio is a software company of about 130 people. Its largest effects on people and the environment come from the data it keeps for thousands of businesses and their clients, from how it treats its team, and from how its own operations and data centres use energy. This page says what we do about each, and what we do not claim.

What matters for a company like ours

We follow the topics of the EU’s voluntary sustainability reporting standard for small and medium-sized companies (VSME), weighted to where a software company has real impact:

  • data protection and information security;
  • responsible use of AI;
  • our people: fair work, development and inclusion;
  • business conduct;
  • energy and emissions from hosting, offices and travel;
  • our customers: small businesses’ independence and access to digital tools.

Customers and their data

  • The platform runs in Hetzner data centres in Germany, behind Cloudflare. Personal data is processed in line with the GDPR, our Privacy Policy and our data transfer and processing agreements.
  • The client base belongs to the business. Altegio shows no advertising to a business’s clients, never promotes its competitors and takes no commission on bookings.
  • Reliability is part of the service: 99.98% uptime and support that answers in minutes.
  • AI agents work through the same API, permissions and audit log as people, and the owner decides what an agent may do.

People

  • A team of 130+ people in Hungary, Armenia, Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Brazil and remote locations, with English as the shared working language and principles that put transparency and inclusion first (see Careers).
  • Structured hiring, onboarding, regular one-to-ones and feedback, managed in one HR system across countries.
  • Flexible work formats, a birthday day off, English classes and voluntary health insurance in Armenia.
  • A long-term incentive plan that lets key team members share in the company’s success.

Communities and access

  • Non-profit organisations use Altegio free of charge.
  • Customers get training and consulting, and pricing that works for a single specialist as well as for a chain.
  • The product works in nine languages, with local payment methods and fiscal requirements such as electronic service invoices (Nota Fiscal) in Brazil.

Environment

  • Our footprint is mostly electricity for hosting and offices, and business travel. We have no manufacturing, warehouses or vehicle fleet.
  • Hetzner, which hosts the platform, states that its German data centres run on electricity from hydropower.
  • Many team members work remotely or in hybrid formats.
  • We have not yet published a greenhouse gas inventory, and we make no climate-neutrality or offsetting claims.

Governance and conduct

  • Our Anti-Corruption Policy applies to employees, contractors and partners.
  • A board of directors with two professional directors, and monthly management reporting to shareholders (see Investor Relations).
  • Contracts, privacy terms and policies are published on this portal with their publication dates.

Reporting

Altegio is not required to report under the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive: as amended by the Omnibus I package, it covers companies with more than 1,000 employees and €450 million of turnover. We answer investors’ ESG questionnaires, such as the VSME datapoints or Invest Europe’s ESG reporting template, on request, and we will extend this page as our reporting develops.
