This step-by-step guide will help you set up the official WhatsApp Cloud API integration (with Coexistence) in Altegio. With this setup, you can use WhatsApp Business App for manual chats and the Altegio CRM for automated messages—on the same phone number.

Step 1: Access WhatsApp Coexistence in Integrations
- In your Altegio account, go to Settings > Integrations.
- Search for “WhatsApp Coexistence”.
- Click the Connect button.

Step 2: Verify Templates #
Before connecting, confirm the ready-to-use WhatsApp notification templates:
- Go to the Settings tab.
- In the Template verification section, click View to check the templates.
- Confirm the language used for META approval (this cannot be changed later).
- Click Continue.

Step 3: Authenticate Your WhatsApp Business Account #
- On the next step, click Log in with Facebook.
- Complete the authentication process for your WhatsApp Business account.
Note: Make sure you have a Facebook Business account or create one during the setup.

Step 4: Wait for Template Approval #
All templates must be approved by Meta. This process may take up to 24 hours.
- You can check the status by refreshing the page.
- Once approved, the connection will automatically activate.

Step 5: Finalize Setup #
Once connected:
- You’ll see a confirmation message: “Application connected”.
- Message cost will be shown.
- Template library remains available under Settings > Notifications.
- Click Top up balance or Account setup to continue.
Step 6: Complete Account Profile #
- Add an account name, profile picture, brief about your business, and description.
- Click Save.
This helps personalize your WhatsApp Business presence and improves client trust.

Once WhatsApp Coexistence is connected, you need to ensure there is enough balance to send messages.
Step 1: Check Notification Channel Status #
Go to Settings > Notifications > Delivery channels. If you see “Insufficient funds” under WhatsApp, you need to top up your balance.

Click the Top up button next to WhatsApp.
Step 2: Connect Altegio Notification Sender #
In the Marketplace, find Altegio notification sender and click Connect.
- You’ll see info on automated WhatsApp messaging and customized templates.
- Note: The minimum top-up is 200 messages.

Step 3: Top Up Your Balance #
- Go to Billing > Information in the left-hand menu.
- Enter the amount to pay.
- Agree to the terms and conditions.
- Choose your payment method (e.g., Auto top-up) and click Pay.

Once the payment is processed, your balance will be updated.
Step 4: Monitor and Track Message Usage #
To review usage and balance:
- Go to Clients > Messages > Overview.
- You’ll see your remaining WhatsApp balance and a log of sent messages.
Filter messages by date, type, or phone number to track message history.

Your WhatsApp Business integration is now fully functional for both automated and manual communication!
